Shibarium is Shiba Inu Ecosystem’s own layer 2
blockchain built on Ethereum (layer 1).

What is the gas token used on Shibarium?
The gas token on Shibarium is Bone which is part of the Shiba Inu Ecosystem. Shibarium is a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain, so validators will need to stake their Bones on Shibarium before they can validate any transactions on Shibarium. Everyone else who are not validators can be delegators and delegate their bone tokens to their chosen validators to secure the blockchain. This staking and delegating mechanism keeps the blockchain secure. Shibarium is decentralized as it has many different computers or nodes maintaining a copy of the blockchain; not just a central controlling entity. This prevents tampering and manipulation by bad actors.

Does Shibarium burn Shib?
Shibarium will also offer a simple, effective, and automated Shib burning mechanism. This automated system is currently under development. As of now, the burns are manual. The gas fees earned from Shibarium are collected in Bone tokens and then Bone tokens are sold to buy Shib to be sent to dead wallets to be locked up forever also known as burned. What is Shib Burn?
